We recently carried out specialist tree removal works in Leadhills, removing a group of willow trees that had partially collapsed into a fast-flowing river.
The trees had been undermined by riverbank erosion, with the flow creating eddies that were further undercutting the bank and beginning to threaten a nearby bridge. Due to the location and risk of material entering the watercourse, the job required careful planning and controlled dismantling.

We used our crane with a 10m reach to support and hold each section before cutting, preventing limbs from dropping into the river and being carried downstream. This allowed us to safely dismantle the trees in a controlled manner while protecting the surrounding environment.

All material was then stacked and processed on site, with brash fed into our crane-fed chipper with conveyor belt for efficient handling and clean-up.
The entire operation was completed within a single day, leaving the site clear, the bridge protected, and one very happy customer.
